E esse ano foi surpreendente. Os críticos ignoraram atrizes e séries de TV que vinham arrancando elogios há algum tempo. Entre as "injustiças" encontradas, temos a ausência de Claire Danes, assim como sua série Homeland. Também não foi nada legal a ausência de Anna Gunn com sua incrível performance na última temporada de Breaking Bad. A premiação também ignorou totalmente Game Of Thrones em qualquer indicação.
Quanto aos filmes, ficou bem equilibrado. Gravity, 12 Years a Slave e Captain Philips lideraram.
